Prayer at Runcorn All Saints CE Primary School

Our Daily Prayers

Prayer at Runcorn All Saints CE Primary School is invitational.  There are many times during the day to take part in planned prayer such as in the morning, in worship, before lunch and at the end of the school day.  There are also opportunities for pupils to take part in spontaneous prayer in and aound school.

Reflection Spaces

Our classroom has their own reflection space.   A reflective space is a soothing and tranquil retreat where children can ‘be still’ and calmly focus their mind in thought, prayer or meditation. It is a place that can provide opportunities for children to explore their spirituality, to ponder ‘big’ questions and express feelings such as gratitude and forgiveness.

At various points over the year, our prayer space is open to the whole community to come and use.

Our Prayer Spaces

Children and young people are innately curious about life. Growing up raises lots of questions, some to do with their experience, both the good and the bad, and some to do with their sense of wonder at the universe we live in and whether there’s more to life than meets the eye. Many have an interest in the non-material aspects of life, the spirit or soul, and want to explore how these ideas and experiences help them to develop their own sense of identity, self-worth, personal insight, meaning and purpose.

Prayer spaces in schools enable children and young people, of all faiths and none, to explore these life questions, spirituality and faith in a safe, creative and interactive way.

We have adapted on of our cupboards into a prayer space.
